Why Wearings?

Simplicity

Making a change can sometimes feel difficult and overwhelming. You might not be able to imagine how life would work without for example paper towels, but the truth is, it’s easier than you might think. Instead of the usual roll, you have a stylish little basket or box with wipes in lovely Tencel terry cloth. After use, you place them in a small PUL bag with your favorite pattern, which hangs on a hook in the kitchen. The bag contains any moisture and odor but is breathable to keep the material fresh until washing. When it's time to wash, you take the bag to the machine, turn it inside out, and throw the reusable cloths and bag into the washing machine (up to 60 degrees Celsius). Simple, hey?!

ENVIRONMENT

There are many environmental aspects to consider when it comes to reusing and wearing out products instead of buying single-use items. The reduction in waste is an immediately noticeable effect, but often, greenhouse gas emissions and total resources used over the product's lifecycle are also reduced. We provide some examples of calculations comparing the total resources used and emissions between single-use products and reusable products.

ECONOMY

The idea is that you should save money by consuming sustainable products. Although the purchase price of a reusable product is significantly higher than its single-time counterpart, the whole idea is that you’ll recoup that money by not having to buy new products for a while. Here you can read a few simple examples of calculations comparing the total cost of using single-use products and reusable products.
